M cubed guitars are hand shaped, one at a time using locally harvested, seasoned and hand picked woods – maple, walnut, ash, alder, cherry, sycamore, apricot, plum and many others which are great instrument woods and are native (or transplanted varieties) to the Claremont Ca area. Fingerboard materials are “sustainable” woods such as bloodwood, macassar ebony and others.
An M cubed guitar lets these spectacular woods speak for themselves with a simple approach. “I like to leave certain reminders in the guitars I build of the fact that these instruments are created from living things. Not just living, but living eco-systems in and of themselves.” M cubed guitars are a fine balance between the Japanese artistic ethic of “wabi sabi” (perfection in imperfection), and the precise engineering necessary to beautifully playing and sounding guitars.
